Appointed as a Professor of Urology, Newcastle University in 2015. Awarded for his research in Biomarkers in Kidney & Prostate Cancer, also developing & delivering innovating ways of surgical & robotic training at the Newcastle Surgical Training Centre.
Appointed as a Consultant in 1998, currently clinical lead in Urology. He has led the department in developing and delivering complex minimally invasive urological surgery. He is involved in training in minimally invasive surgery within UK and Europe.
Research interest includes renal cancer, minimally invasive surgery and renal transplantation.
